Dear Ms. Luhrs:

Thank you for all of your work with USA Dance, Inc.. You and your company have provided a range of services for us in the areas of grants research, project strategizing, and foundation review and analyses. As a seasoned marketing professional, writer and journalist, you have contributed informative articles to our national publication, Amateur Dancers.

Throughout our working relationship, you demonstrated attention to detail, an ability to understand our funding priorities, and identified project concepts for our consideration not just in dance and the arts but also in other relevant fields. You skillfully matched our priorities with a range of funding sources’ interests, followed up with us, and also spoke with program officers at foundations to seek further information and to clarify funding guidelines.

For example, as part of our effort to assist a chapter in its funding pursuits, you aided us by reviewing a foundation’s application materials, contacted their program officer concerning an announcement of a large bequest that was made, identified requirements and objectives that would be of interest to our organization, and provided several recommendations for us to consider in the development of a customized proposal.

Your company’s customized Grant Bulletin Announcements provided us with a range of prospective funding sources to submit proposals. In 2005, you completed an extensive search of prospective grants from foundations, corporations, and government agencies that was presented in a very thorough and concise report for our chapters to use.

For the past five years, your column, All Things Considered, has appeared in Amateur Dancers. This column has provided our members and readers with well written, informative, and insightful articles covering a range of topics such as public relations tips, marketing a dance organization, technology for a dance group, funding trends in the arts, and others. In addition, you have interviewed renowned legends in the dance world such as Pedro Aguilar-Cuban Pete (the Mambo King) and profiled ballroom/social dance groups in high schools and universities.

Some of your articles were selected for inclusion in our on-line Document Library to help our chapters in their daily operations. These professional papers have provided additional technical support to our chapters.

Thank you again for all of your work and contributions to our organization.

Sincerely,
Esther Freeman

Dear Ms. Luhrs,

I want to thank you for the persistent, continued public relations work your company did to publicize my appointment to the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBO)-Bergen Chapter Board of Trustees as Immediate Past President, as well as mentioning my NJAWBO Business Woman of the Year Award, 2002. Your effort resulted in 6 published articles…from August 1 to October 29, 2003.

Your assistance with the preparation of the installation dinner and program was invaluable, as well as the publicizing of the event, which resulted in more than 11 articles appearing in various publications throughout the New Jersey Northern Region.

Your follow up with media representatives was crucial…, but also you have created relationships for ongoing publicity. You have created a much needed public relations and publicity calendar and a list of over 40 publications to receive press announcements.

As Immediate Past President of NJAWBO-Bergen Chapter, please accept my gratitude. Your efforts have already made a difference in our public image and your dedication…has resulted in positive recognition of our organization. Your hard work and your professionalism are apparent in each of your projects. Thank you.

I want to thank you for the marketing and grants sessions that your company provided for our administrators and marketing committee. These sessions were hands-on and engaging. We felt very comfortable asking you questions and received several useful tips and tools to aid us in our daily marketing, public relations, and fundraising efforts.

The session on the introduction to the world of grants provided us with a good overview about this area of development. You encouraged us in our fundraising efforts and gave us some good ideas of what might be supported by a grant…During the marketing consultative sessions, you provided a range of suggestions for creating a plan, recommendations of strategies that the school might implement and brainstormed with attendees about what they could do.

The marketing committee’s members appreciated the clear, concise direction that you gave them. Not only did you provide us with cogent marketing ideas, but also you helped us focus our short-term and long-range goals.

I look forward to implementing some of the ideas that you presented and would recommend you and your company’s services to other organizations in need of assistance with marketing and public relations, as well as those interested in learning more about grants.

I am so grateful to Luhrs and Associates for their outstanding advisement and public relations skills. Luhrs & Associates is the only marketing and public relations firm I have worked with in the New York City area that provides extensive advisement in the process of creating a marketing campaign. BALAM’s image has been elevated in less then a year.

Thanks to Joyce Luhrs, BALAM has been in a variety of media. She has outstanding analytical, critical thinking, and writing skills, and customizes each campaign to fit our capabilities and needs.

She is dynamite! Any organization would benefit from working with her.

BALAM’s marketing and strategizing consultation with Luhrs & Associates was a formidable and important experience for BALAM Dance Theatre. Ms. Luhrs was able to succinctly introduce us to a series of essential building block concepts that I was, until then, unaware of. I now understand these vital concepts are essential for moving the dance company forward. My goal is to build the company’s name recognition and audience/supporter base. I never knew how to do this before, and how much was involved. Now I can work steadfastly at putting some fundamental building blocks in place and getting the word out about the company’s work.

Luhrs and Associates is an invaluable asset to the organization.

Dear Ms. Luhrs:

In May of last year, after an exhaustive search for grant writers on the Internet, I contacted your agency. I shared with you the current operation of the Ruth Williams Dance Foundation and the uncertainty of our continued operation as a dance organization in Harlem. In that conversation you were cordial, encouraging, resourceful and sensitive to our plight. We discussed the extensive services available through your agency and agreed, for the time being, our most pressing and practical use of your services would be in the marketing area. Our annual dance recital was scheduled for June 21, 2008 (just over six weeks) at Lincoln Center. We agreed to have Luhrs & Associates prepare and distribute customized press releases for that affair.

We are delighted with the excellent and professional manner in which the contracted services were provided by your agency. We are satisfied that you afforded us broad exposure through an array of media outlets that resulted in our story being picked up in publications such as Dance Teacher magazine among others. Not only did you do an excellent job in the area that you were retained, you provided us with valuable suggestions in a variety of other needs areas related to the restructuring and organizational functioning of our agency.

We look forward to maintaining our relationship with Luhrs & Associates and will be happy to offer our positive reference to others who might be considering those services.

Very truly yours,
Charles L. Dunn

Dear Ms. Luhrs:

Thirty years ago, I founded BALAM Dance Theatre (BALAM), a small, eclectic dance company in New York City. Today, BALAM competes with some of the biggest names in dance and an ocean of talent for media and audience attention.

The services of Luhrs & Associates have made a world of difference for BALAM, providing us with a customized and balanced response to our mission and image, as well as understanding current trends, fads, approaches in the East/West dance circle, and the greater consumer society.

Through the use of Luhrs & Associates’ expert marketing, public relations, and management services and products, BALAM’s name recognition has increased dramatically over the past three years. Audiences, the media, presenters and other dance related professionals have developed a new found interest in us.

The company’s expertise and advisement has also guided BALAM in various event planning and staff management projects, allowing BALAM’s image and message to be cohesive. Thanks to Luhrs & Associates’ extensive marketing, public relations, media relations, event planning, and management services, our 30th anniversary performance held in March of this year was a success. Several print and electronic media, as well as blogs, picked up BALAM’s event.

Luhrs & Associates’ advice is business savvy and aesthetically informed, making it highly effective and desirable to implement. A Luhrs & Associates’ product stands out in an information-saturated world, and is noticed for its perfection, intelligence and attention to detail.

BALAM has been propelled forward with the creative thinking and drive of Luhrs & Associates. I cannot imagine a future without Luhrs & Associates, as a dynamic and broad resource for BALAM’s future.
